I work at the movies.. We use coconut oil for the popper.. Now I heard coconut oil is the 1st or 2nd worst kind of oil to use... Is that true? Thanks very much! :]Coconut Oil?
Coconut oil is made up of around 90% saturated fat, 6% monounsaturated fat, and 2% polyunsaturated fat. Differing from other highly saturated fats however, coconut oil is mostly made up of medium chain fatty acidsCoconut Oil?
Nope Coconut oil is by far the best oil to use for popping because it has a high smoke point. This means it can get hotter than other oils before it starts to turn black.
Coconut oil is very expensive and several times the price of regular oil.
The may say it's the worst kind oil because some report came out some years ago saying that it was unhealthy, but this is kind of dumb since you're squirting a quarter cup of butter on top anyway.
This was terrible for the coconut oil industry because all the movie theaters changed to canola or some other oil. I live on a tiny island in the Pacific where exporting coconut oil was the main source of money for the people and they suffered a lot from the crisis.
I don't use coconut oil much for cooking but many women use it in their hair and skin and it's also very good for a massage oil since it melts around 80 degrees and isn't as runny. Plus it smells nice.
Yes .
It is said to have a lot of cholesterol. But it sure tastes better than vegetable oil.Good Luck!!
No, it is actually very good for you...Google it and see all the benefits. Google ';hydrogenated oil'; and see the results of that then make your decision.
Back in the brainwashing era, it was held up next to a clogged artery and the assumption was given/assumed that it was a factor in causing it. Hydrogenated oil was substituted as it is so inexpensive to use. Hydrogenated oils is awful! Coconut oil if it is extra virgin is awesome!!! It costs alot more, but more companies are not using hydrogenated oils as much with the public out cry against it.
Who cares? As long as it tastes good.
yh :]
