Where can I find coconut oil in the grocery store? Can I find it in the canned goods section? Can I find coconut oil in a can?
Some grocery stores will have it, some will not. It will likely be in the ';ethnic'; foods part of the store (with Asian or Indian foods) rather than the canned goods area. Indian grocers will definitely have it if there is one near you (and much less expensive than a regular store).
ETA: Just realized as the next poster did that you might mean Coconut milk or sweetened coconut milk (like Coco Lopez). I normally see that type of product with the drink mixers for alcoholic beverages as well. Can I find coconut oil in a can?
If you are going to drink it, it is called coconut milk. Just ask an employee of the store they should know which aisle it is in. I think it is with the drink mixes not canned goods.
not sure if u need it for a recipe or to apply on irritated skin, anyway i saw some at an asian grocery store . it said this coconut oil was a good treatment for some skin conditions, can't really remember what. if your talking about coconut milk, that is found in there too. good luck!!!
some has it in the bottle, but i am not sure about the can
Yes. You can find it at a store called Coconut Everything. Look up their website to find locations of stores. Good Luck!
Coconut oil usually comes in a jar or a plastic container. I have never seen coconut oil in a can. I have seen coconut milk in a can. I have seen coconut cream in a hermetically sealed bag.
Yes I have also seen virgen coconut oil which is very good for your health.
Coconut Oil and Heart Health
While many people may be avoiding coconut oil and other tropical oils because of warnings about saturated fat, they may not have heard that recent scientific evidence separates natural, unrefined saturated oils from hydrogenated trans fatty acids. Long term epidemiological studies on communities who derive large portions of their calories from saturated fat from coconuts and coconut oils show no evidence of an increase in heart disease or any unfavorable cholesterol balance. These populations enjoy much lower rates of cardiovascular disease than we do in the United States, even though they consume large amounts of saturated fat and medium chain triglycerides from coconut oil. However, they consume little to no trans fatty acids from hydrogenated oils.
Virgin Coconut Oil from the Philippines
I know all the great info below - I just want to buy Traditional Philippine Coconut Oil
HOW OUR TRADITIONAL PHILIPPINE COCONUT OIL IS MADE
For generations in the Philippines they have been making virgin coconut oil by hand, using a traditional Philippine method of extraction. First the fresh coconuts are opened and grated. Then the flesh is pressed, yielding a fresh coconut milk emulsion that is approximately 40% oil. The milk is called an emulsion because there is a natural protein that holds the oil in solution. Within about 12 hours, however, the natural enzymes from the coconut will break down this protein, releasing the oil. This process has been studied and now perfected by our manufacturers in the Philippines and professors at the neighboring university.
you should be able to!!!.... may be called coconut ';milk';... or coconut ';cream';... I think =)
